overview of who we are, what we do, and how we do it.
Lighting by Designs is a custom lighting manufacturer located in Saint James, NY. We
specialize in decorative custom lighting fixtures and designs. We work on both large scale and
small scale projects. Sizes and quantities are no problem for us. We work with stained glass,
acrylic alabasters, wood, fabrics and ALL metals (brass, copper, aluminum, stainless etc...) in
any finish specified. We do all of our own bending, cutting, metal spinning, welding and
finishing whether it is painted or powder coated, as well as manufacture our own lamp shades
in all sizes and fabrics. Our shop can handle metal spinning in sizes up to 64" in diameter. We
are also very excited to now be offering full laser cutting to our clients for very intricate and
dramatic designs. We work directly with Underwriters Laboratories, and as such, we are a fully
certified U.L. Facility. Everything we manufacture carries the U.L. label and is, VERY PROUDLY,
made 100% completely in the USA.
Our family started this business in 1936 as a stained glass manufacturer. Today, we are much
more varied and diversified in the products we offer, both in architectural custom lighting
fixtures and also in the material used to build them.
We built this business on faith, quality, timeliness, and outstanding pricing. These are the four
cornerstones of our business. We will never waiver in this. Our clients expect this of us and we
deliver..... time after time.
